Marine Dynamics enjoys sightings of great whites, copper sharks (bronze whalers) and even the occasional stingray at our vessel. Unlike bungy jumping or sky diving, the adrenaline rush from shark cage diving comes from being face to face with one of the world’s greatest predators: the Great White Shark.
The experience puts you in their territory while the safety of the activity allows you to be an observer and learn what Great White Sharks are really like. An on board marine biologist will educate you about this amazing apex predator.
Shark Cage Diving is safe for children and elders and gives the whole family a wonderful opportunity to bond in a fun environment surrounded by experts and researchers.
After this once in a life time experience, you’ll find yourself buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. You will have had the opportunity to come up close and personal with one of the oceans most majestic and foreboding creatures.
Here is a brief breakdown of what to expect once you arrive:
• Before the trip guests meet at THE GREAT WHITE HOUSE in Kleinbaai
• You will receive breakfast or lunch and register your wetsuit size
• Guests receive a pre-trip safety briefing about what to expect during the trip and a biological background on great white sharks
• We then take a 200m stroll down to the harbour to board Slashfin
• Travel time to Dyer Island is approximately 20 minutes, with the shallows being a short 10 minute ride (where we anchor depends on where the sharks are)
• On average, we anchor for 2 hours, but this depends on shark activity, conditions, as well as number of divers
• Weather permitting, we take a quick trip through the infamous Shark Alley
• Lastly, a debrief in the Great White House and a celebratory beverage to toast the occasion!

A Shark Cage Dive / Viewing guided by a marine biologist, a light meal (breakfast or lunch depending on time of trip), refreshments on board and soup and bread on return is included.
Equipment such as wet suits, booties, masks, towel are provided. Life jackets and waterproof jacket is alo supplied.
A video link of your experience is not included in the price but can be purchased in addition to the dive / viewing excursion. Cost R200.
This is uploaded 24-48 hours after trip and once downloaded can be used across social platforms and saved for your memories.

Please allow enough time for transport from Cape Town (3 hours) and Hermanus (1 hour) when travelling to Gansbaai. Please be aware that there are road works en route and waiting times are included in the above travelling times.

This shark cage diving experience was truly unforgettable! The service and overall experience were absolutely excellent. Before the activity, we were provided with a meal, as well as a detailed educational session and Q&A about sharks, which was very informative. When we went down into the water, I was really nervous, and the ocean was extremely cold. But the crew was incredibly thoughtful---they prepared hot showers, warm hot chocolate, and wrapped me up tightly in a blanket right away to keep me warm. The whole team was so friendly and energetic, and they really made the experience fun. The photos and videos they took turned out amazing! I was also happy to learn that part of the income goes to ocean conservation---this made the trip even more meaningful and worthwhile. I highly recommend this experience to everyone, and I will definitely bring my friends here next time! - Li

I highly recommend Marine Dynamics shark cage diving. I booked a tour for my family of 7 online which took no time at all. I was a bit apprehensive at first since I was making this reservation from the US, but I printed my tickets and all of communication was clear and comprehensive. I read all of the great reviews and my mind was set more at ease. We were greeted at the entrance and shown where to go. We had a few special requests and the staff was absolutely SO accommodating and responsive to our needs.
