Shark Cage Diving with RETURN Transfer from Cape Town

Activity Description

All trips are weather and tide dependant and launch times may vary accordingly from those stated. Your launch time will be confirmed the day before.

Unlike bungee jumping or sky diving, the adrenaline rush from shark cage diving comes from being face to face with one of the world’s greatest predators: the Great White Shark.

The experience puts you in their territory while the safety of the activity allows you to be an observer and learn what Great White Sharks are really like. An on board marine biologist will educate you about this amazing apex predator.

Shark Cage Diving is safe for children and elders and gives the whole family a wonderful opportunity to bond in a fun environment surrounded by experts and researchers.

After this once in a life time experience, you’ll find yourself buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. You will have had the opportunity to come up close and personal with one of the oceans most majestic and foreboding creatures.

Here is a brief breakdown of what to expect once you arrive:
• Before the trip guests meet at THE GREAT WHITE HOUSE in Kleinbaai
• You will receive breakfast or lunch and register your wetsuit size
• Guests receive a pre-trip safety briefing about what to expect during the trip and a biological background on great white sharks
• We then take a 200m stroll down to the harbour to board Slashfin
• Travel time to Dyer Island is approximately 20 minutes, with the shallows being a short 10 minute ride (where we anchor depends on where the sharks are)
• On average, we anchor for 2 hours, but this depends on shark activity, conditions, as well as number of divers
• Weather permitting, we take a quick trip through the infamous Shark Alley
• Lastly, a debrief in the Great White House and a celebratory beverage to toast the occasion!

Why We Are Different:
• A dedicated marine biologist on board every trip
• Our Boat (Slashfin) is the largest in the industry (most deck space per customer) and was purposely built for shark cage diving and includes two restrooms, and an upper deck for the ultimate viewing and photography experience when not in the cage.
• A fully licensed Restaurant and Crew House, aptly named the GREAT WHITE HOUSE, which includes facilities such as: 2 marine rooms where professional safety and informative briefings are given before each trip + separate ladies/gents/handicap restroom facilities with a 5-star rating + curio shop
• We guarantee clean, dry wetsuits (a rarity in the industry)
• Our crew receives as many compliments as the Great White Sharks, with more combined experience than any other Shark Cage Diving crew.
• You will leave with great memories and a deep appreciation of this majestic animal.

We really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to others. It was great having the marine biologist onboard to answer questions and provide information. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. I haven't received the link to the video yet however (was told it would take a couple of days to edit and it's now been 2 weeks). - Kate Myburgh

So me and my wife got an email the day we got into Cape Town saying iur trip had been cancelled due to weather, it was a risk we knew was possible, but Marine Dynamics wwre lovely when rebooking for the next day, helpful and the trip itself was great. They provided a minibus from our hotel to Gansbaii and the driver stopped for us to watch Southern Right whales frollicking in a cove. There was plenty of water to drink and lots of information, though with the early start most people slept for the journey there! We had a lovely breakfast at Great White House and the briefing was thorough and pointed out how rare Great White sitings have been the past year or so, apparently due to predation from Orcas. That was unfortunately true for us, though just after setting anchor we had two Coppersharks come and very inquisitively nosey about, we were in the water with them for what felt like ages and it was amazing, such ancient, beautiful creatures. Then a seal pup came and spent an hour playing with a dead fish... it was so cute but really tense. Thankfully it was fine. The sharks also came back and so wveryone ended up seeing them in the water. By this time I found I got cold and personnay felt a bit rough, the average swell is apperently 2.5m, despite travel sick meds a few people were pretty unwell. Again though the staff were lovley and helpful, goving out advise and sick bags and mints, it really helped. So from Cape Town this was a long day but very much worth it, just be aware Great Whites are uncommon at the moment, its prone to being cancelled at the last minute, the water is quite choppy and it is a long old journey from Cape Town. All of those are what you get though when doing somethinf wild, its hard and unpredictable and totally worth it when you see magnificent creatures up close. - David Wright
