Shark Cage Diving with RETURN Transfer from Cape Town

Gansbaai

Activity Description

All trips are weather and tide dependant and launch times may vary accordingly from those stated. Your launch time will be confirmed the day before.

Unlike bungee jumping or sky diving, the adrenaline rush from shark cage diving comes from being face to face with one of the world’s greatest predators: the Great White Shark.

The experience puts you in their territory while the safety of the activity allows you to be an observer and learn what Great White Sharks are really like. An on board marine biologist will educate you about this amazing apex predator.

Shark Cage Diving is safe for children and elders and gives the whole family a wonderful opportunity to bond in a fun environment surrounded by experts and researchers.

After this once in a life time experience, you’ll find yourself buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. You will have had the opportunity to come up close and personal with one of the oceans most majestic and foreboding creatures.

Here is a brief breakdown of what to expect once you arrive:
• Before the trip guests meet at THE GREAT WHITE HOUSE in Kleinbaai
• You will receive breakfast or lunch and register your wetsuit size
• Guests receive a pre-trip safety briefing about what to expect during the trip and a biological background on great white sharks
• We then take a 200m stroll down to the harbour to board Slashfin
• Travel time to Dyer Island is approximately 20 minutes, with the shallows being a short 10 minute ride (where we anchor depends on where the sharks are)
• On average, we anchor for 2 hours, but this depends on shark activity, conditions, as well as number of divers
• Weather permitting, we take a quick trip through the infamous Shark Alley
• Lastly, a debrief in the Great White House and a celebratory beverage to toast the occasion!

Why We Are Different:
• A dedicated marine biologist on board every trip
• Our Boat (Slashfin) is the largest in the industry (most deck space per customer) and was purposely built for shark cage diving and includes two restrooms, and an upper deck for the ultimate viewing and photography experience when not in the cage.
• A fully licensed Restaurant and Crew House, aptly named the GREAT WHITE HOUSE, which includes facilities such as: 2 marine rooms where professional safety and informative briefings are given before each trip + separate ladies/gents/handicap restroom facilities with a 5-star rating + curio shop
• We guarantee clean, dry wetsuits (a rarity in the industry)
• Our crew receives as many compliments as the Great White Sharks, with more combined experience than any other Shark Cage Diving crew.
• You will leave with great memories and a deep appreciation of this majestic animal.

Customer Reviews

We collected from where we were staying in Cape Town promptly at 9:30am and the journey was both scenic and enjoyable. The journey took approximately 2.5 hours to reach our destination. Upon arrival we were shown a video and lunch of pasta and salad was provided. We were given our life jackets and waterproof coats and then walked down to the boat. It was a beautiful day but we were advised there had been very few sittings of the Great White Shark in the last few days. I think they were preparing us We set out into the bay and we were given wet suits to prepare for getting into the cage My husband was one of the first people to get into the cage. We saw a couple of sharks in the distance but neither of them cam near enough to the boat for us to see them properly. The visibility under the water was poor. After approximately an hour my husband got out of the cage as there were no more sitings of any sharks. We were out on the boat for a number of hours and then we were told we were being taken to see the sea lions on a small island. I think this was a little compensation for the lack of sharks. Granted seeing the sea lions was an amazing experience. To see 60,000 of them was incredible. The only thing I wasn’t happy with was the smell. We were all covering our noses. It was disgusting. After this we made our way back to base and were driven back to Cape Town. I think the staff and organisation of Marine Dynamics were excellent. When you are dealing with Mother Nature, there are no guarantees. We had an enjoyable day and would recommend the company highly. - Fiona Kersh

Amazing beautiful and exciting experience! Would recommend to everyone visiting South Africa! One of my favorite things I got to do while visiting. - Morgan Calisto

Great Experience and very professional staff on a very friendly environment... - Fermin Perez

even without Mr. White Shark - unfortunately - it was a unique experience. The copper sharks were also worth seeing and spectacular. Perfect service and transfer, friendly and helpful staff. 100% satisfaction - a dream trip! - Christian Schedlbauer

No white sharks, but still an excellent experience. The marine biologist onboard made it worth it with all her excellent information. Our driver Rudy was fantastic and kept us entertained. Truly excellent customer service from him. I manage tour guides for a large travel company in the United States and I couldn’t have asked for better service from Rudy! Thanks! - Ben Collier
