Shark Cage Diving with RETURN Transfer from Cape Town

Activity Description

All trips are weather and tide dependant and launch times may vary accordingly from those stated. Your launch time will be confirmed the day before.

Unlike bungee jumping or sky diving, the adrenaline rush from shark cage diving comes from being face to face with one of the world’s greatest predators: the Great White Shark.

The experience puts you in their territory while the safety of the activity allows you to be an observer and learn what Great White Sharks are really like. An on board marine biologist will educate you about this amazing apex predator.

Shark Cage Diving is safe for children and elders and gives the whole family a wonderful opportunity to bond in a fun environment surrounded by experts and researchers.

After this once in a life time experience, you’ll find yourself buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. You will have had the opportunity to come up close and personal with one of the oceans most majestic and foreboding creatures.

Here is a brief breakdown of what to expect once you arrive:
• Before the trip guests meet at THE GREAT WHITE HOUSE in Kleinbaai
• You will receive breakfast or lunch and register your wetsuit size
• Guests receive a pre-trip safety briefing about what to expect during the trip and a biological background on great white sharks
• We then take a 200m stroll down to the harbour to board Slashfin
• Travel time to Dyer Island is approximately 20 minutes, with the shallows being a short 10 minute ride (where we anchor depends on where the sharks are)
• On average, we anchor for 2 hours, but this depends on shark activity, conditions, as well as number of divers
• Weather permitting, we take a quick trip through the infamous Shark Alley
• Lastly, a debrief in the Great White House and a celebratory beverage to toast the occasion!

Why We Are Different:
• A dedicated marine biologist on board every trip
• Our Boat (Slashfin) is the largest in the industry (most deck space per customer) and was purposely built for shark cage diving and includes two restrooms, and an upper deck for the ultimate viewing and photography experience when not in the cage.
• A fully licensed Restaurant and Crew House, aptly named the GREAT WHITE HOUSE, which includes facilities such as: 2 marine rooms where professional safety and informative briefings are given before each trip + separate ladies/gents/handicap restroom facilities with a 5-star rating + curio shop
• We guarantee clean, dry wetsuits (a rarity in the industry)
• Our crew receives as many compliments as the Great White Sharks, with more combined experience than any other Shark Cage Diving crew.
• You will leave with great memories and a deep appreciation of this majestic animal.

Customer Reviews

Many thanks to all the team at Marine Dynamics who were all most helpful and informative through out the trip. It was a long day for us getting picked up at 04:50 Cape Town Sea Point and a two and a half hour trip to Gansbaai but was well worth it. We had a choice of breakfast etc which was most welcome after our drive to get there. As I say the staff looked after us through out and once we were off everything went a fast pace with briefings kitting up and getting settled on the boat. Once anchored and the cage was set up you did not have to ask me twice first one in the cage. Disappointed I did not get to see a great white but that's nature for you we did get to see Bronze Whaler or Copper Shark which were still approx 3 meters and the onboard Marine Biologist were very informative about these sharks. Lovely cup of Coco after getting out of the cage and snacks to hand if you wanted them. Many thanks all the staff at Marine Dynamics great job you're doing. Regards Peter - Peter Bills

Great time - great welcome (although someone forgot to mention the breakfast buffet was there for the guests to eat) . Great experience on the boat with lots of help form the staff. A very enthusiastic Biologist on board to answer questions and we saw a bunch of bronze whalers and a great white! Good driver to and back from Gansbaai who took the time to show us Southern right whales in Hermanus. - Benoit Goessens

I'd waited most of my life to cage dive with the great whites and when finally getting to S. Africa I booked with Marine Dynamics. I chose Marine Dynamics based on reviews & recommendations and information the company offers on the website. The great white house is an appropriate meeting point, the food (salad, breakfast casserole, soup) available before and after the voyage are perfect to keep you energized. The staff/volunteers were informative, friendly and helpful. They definitely try to make the experience exciting even when not seeing great whites. Yes, I unfortunately did not see a great white. As mentioned, I'd waited a long time to see one and that was my sole purpose for the trip, so I am quite disappointed. However, when I return to S. Africa I will try again with Marine Dynamics. - Sabrina

Caring staff with good equipment Didn’t manage to see any great white on the day but we still see quite an amount of copper shark, still make quite a good show. - Harry Cheung

It was an awesome experience! I regretted not having bought the shark diving video. Would it be possible to buy now? It was the first class 10/12/18. Best Regards! Hugo Pelizer - HUGO R PELIZER
